Rosemount makes a full line of flow meters, including their Vortex flow meters. These are durable, practical and highly reliable meters used for measuring the flow of a wide variety of different options in the media through a system. As with all of the meter offered by the company, they are in use in all over the world and are considered one of the most reliable meter options in a wide range of industries and applications.
Benefits and Uses
The Rosemount Vortex flow meters are simple in their design. They have no moving parts and no need for impulse lines to be run during the installation or for the operation of the meter. This makes them the ideal solution in remote areas or hard to reach locations of a system. They are also extremely energy-efficient and have limited power needs, making them a superior choice in many types of systems.
It is hard to find an industry where flow measurement is required, and Rosemount Vortex flow meters are not in use. There are sanitary solutions that can be used in food and beverage production as well as in pharmaceutical and even chemical processing. They are widely used in the oil and gas industry and for refining applications.
The versatility of the Rosemount Vortex flow meters and their ability to measure the flow of liquids, gases, and steam, they are also found in power plants, energy production as well as in steam process applications.
Measurement Using Vortex Technology
The measurement technology with the Vortex flow meter uses a sensor unit mounted on or behind an oscillating bar called a shedder bar in the flow meter. The bar oscillates at a specific frequency, and the sensor measures the vortices that are caused as the fluid passes the shedder bar. This provides an accurate volumetric flow rate that is based on the Von Kármán Effect.
