Keep These Items Out of Your Drain
Stave off drain problems by not letting hair, soap scum, coffee grounds, stickers from food or packaging and plastic ties enter your sink. One way to do this is to put a screen over the drain.

If your sink has a garbage disposal, first make some ice cubes by filling a tray with one-half vinegar and then one-half water. Turn the disposal on and toss in the ice cubes.
