Non-Toxic Bathroom Cleaner

by | Jun 20, 2018 | Kitchen cleaning

Clean water is important to us all. We depend on water resources for food, drinking, recreation, and more. Polluted water resources threaten our health, environment, and livelihood. Using a non-toxic bathroom cleaner is one way to help sustain our natural water resources.

Households pollute the water supply in many ways. Few people realize that the cleaners we use contain toxic and harmful chemicals. When cleaning the bathroom, these chemicals get washed down the drain where they go straight to a treatment plant, and some of the water even ends up in our lakes and rivers.

There are approximately 80,000 documented chemicals used which have a negative impact on the environment.

The EPA ranks air pollution as the top environmental dangers with much of the pollution stemming from common cleaning products. Chemicals from these products are released into the atmosphere through evaporation. Exposure to the pollutants include headaches, dizziness, fatigue, asthma, and eye, nose, and mouth irritation. Because of this, the EPA strongly recommends everyone improve the air quality in their homes.

To help mitigate the damage caused by commercial cleaning products with harsh chemicals, many people have turned to a non-toxic bathroom cleaner.

Choosing less hazardous products will have a positive impact on our environment and will cost less for the consumer.

Wastewater containing non-toxic cleaners are easier to clean at treatment plants, easier on the environment, and do not cause as many health issues as commercial cleaning products.

When buying non-toxic bathroom cleaner select a product that is biodegradable, recyclable, fragrance-free, has a pump spray instead of aerosols, and the information on the label is clear and not ambiguous.

More and more people are realizing the benefits of eco-friendly bathroom cleaners. The trickle-down effect will help to clean our lakes and rivers, restore our environment, and heal our ecosystem.
